I got hit last Tuesday and the other guy's insurance called me today with a $2,500 offer. My car is banged up and my back is definitely feeling it, but I've never dealt with this before. Everyone says 'get a lawyer' but I'm worried they'll just take a huge cut and I'll end up with less than what I started with. Has anyone actually tried to negotiate with the insurance adjusters themselves? I just want to make sure my medical stuff is covered without making this a whole year-long ordeal.
