Got rear-ended at a red light last Thursday. The other driver's insurance called me today, admitted fault, and said they'd cover all my vehicle repairs plus $1,000 for medical 'inconvenience' because my shoulder is a bit sore. Everyone keeps telling me 'get a lawyer!' but I've never dealt with this before. Won't a lawyer just take 30-40% of everything anyway? Is it actually worth hiring one or should I just take the settlement and move on? I really don't want to drag this out if I don't have to.
