So, I got rear-ended about three weeks ago. My car is totaled and I've been dealing with some pretty bad neck pain. The other guy's insurance just called and offered me $2,500 to 'close the case,' but my ER visit alone was almost $4k. They're being super pushy about me signing the papers today. Has anyone successfully negotiated a higher payout without spending a fortune on a lawyer, or am I just gonna get screwed if I don't hire one?
